Chef Dommi is a Detroit-based chef whose culinary foundation is rooted in Southern, Creole, and African American food traditions. Her heritage extends from Louisiana to Mississippi, shaping a style of cooking grounded in depth of flavor, discipline, and respect for the craft.Her work in the kitchen spans private dining, large-scale community service, and collaborative chef initiatives throughout Detroit. She has prepared meals at volume, led private tables, and worked alongside respected culinary figures within the city and beyond.Chef Dommi worked closely with the late Chef Maxcel Hardy during the Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen initiative, serving as vegetable chef and sous chef while helping produce and distribute more than 30,000 meals for Detroit’s shelters, frontline workers, and elderly residents.She has also served as a featured chef with Chef Lauren Vanderpool during the Queen of Greens national wellness program, leading live culinary sessions for participants across the country.Her culinary range extends across Southern and Creole traditions, African Caribbean cuisine, and a wide spectrum of global dishes shaped by professional kitchen experience and years of hands-on preparation.Today, Chef Dommi maintains a selective culinary presence.In addition to her work in the kitchen, Chef Dommi is an author whose forthcoming culinary and literary works explore memory, heritage, and the language of food. Her writing extends her culinary practice beyond the table and into print.
